Brian Hurst
Vice President
Brian Hurst is a senior-level nonprofit management professional specializing in major gift fundraising. He has spent his entire career in nonprofit work and has been involved in youth service, social service, education, and currently in healthcare. Much of his career was spent at the University of Cincinnati Foundation as a fundraiser for three of the colleges on the university’s Academic Health Center campus in Clifton. Those many years of major gift work provided Brian with a strong understanding of healthcare philanthropy which has been invaluable in his current role as a Senior Gift Officer with Mercy Health (Service Areas: Anderson Hospital, Oncology, and Graduate Medical Education).
Brian grew up in Anderson Township and graduated from Turpin H.S. in 1993 before heading to the University of Tennessee where he studied Journalism and Public Relations. Brian and his wife Jessica moved back to Anderson Township in 2003 and have lived here ever since. They have four boys; three are Turpin graduates (’17, ’19, ’21) and one is a senior graduating in May ’23. When Brian is not roaming the halls of Mercy Anderson Hospital, he can be found relaxing at Turpin Hills Swim Club in the warm weather, skiing at Perfect North Slopes in the cold weather, and working out just enough to avoid getting the dreaded ‘dad-bod’ label from the boys.
